200 East 62nd Street

This 30-story apartment tower, which is known as 200 E 62, was erected at 200 East 62nd Street on the southeast corner at Third Avenue in 1967 as a rental building that had 241 units.

It was designed by Paul Resnick and Harry G. Green for Wellington Estates Ltd. The architects’s other Manhattan designs include 80 Central Park West, 700 Park Avenue and 980 Fifth Avenue.

The building, which is also known as 1033-1049 Third Avenue, was acquired by Mann Realty and the California State Teachers Retirement System, in 1996.

It was converted in 2015 to a condominium with about 115 units by O’Connor Capital Partners, which is headed by Glenn Rufrano. Ronnette Riley and The Rockwell Group designed the conversion that removed sidewalk planters with spikes and added a slanting granite wall to its side-street driveway and a curved glass-and-metal entrance marquee.

Messana O’Rorke did the interiors in the conversion.
